Mike is finishing his Ph.D. in Polymer Materials Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech under Dr. Vladimir Tsukruk. He received his bachelors in Chemical Engineering in 2004 from the University of Iowa. He has also studied at Iowa State University in the Materials Science and Engineering Department. He is an expert in scanning probe microscopy and surface-force spectroscopy. Much of his background is in bio-related work, such as developing protein functionalized surfaces and bio-inspired functional coatings for cantilever based underwater flow sensors. He has more than a dozen articles in peer reviewed journals and several oral presentations at national conferences.
